Benefits
Whether used before, during or after an implementation of Service Management processes and/or supporting technology, foxPRISM will help deliver lower cost and earlier business benefits, via:
- An accelerated implementation time
- Reduced costs through more effective use of resources
- Reduced risk in using an approach based on proven templates and many years of proven implementation experience
- More effective deployment of supporting technology via alignment to business processes
- A baseline for continuous reference and service improvement
- Knowledge repository to aid consistent use and induction of new staff
foxPRISM is a fully interactive web based process knowledge base that assists in the design and management of Service Management processes and the implementation of Service Management tools. Based on ITIL® Version 3 best practice processes, but also incorporating other related standards and practices such as ISO/IEC 20000, BS 25999 and Project Management (PMBOK v4), foxPRISM provides a customizable framework onto which organizations can map and build their own process models.
Easy to use and understand
foxPRISM is a web based tool that enables information to be shared across the entire organization.
Flowcharts in swimlane format and text are combined to illustrate processes and provide a reference that can be easily accessed, maintained and understood.
There is no expensive annual license fee – just a one off cost which includes installation and training. foxPRISM does not require expensive specialist software to maintain it, but uses tools that most organizations will already possess and can easily use – Word, Excel, Visio and ExpressionWeb (or FrontPage).
Documents and templates
A key accelerator on the process implementation path (whilst at the same time helping to reduce costs) is the use of the included documents and templates, such as: Service Level Agreement, Operational Level Agreement, Service Catalogue, Availability Plan, Capacity Plan, ISO20000 policies, example job descriptions, metrics & KPIs, etc.
ISO/IEC 20000 & COBIT®
foxPRISM has rich content including:
- Detailed process maps, descriptive text and RACI matrices for all processes
- Descriptions, highlighting key responsibilities, for 37 roles
- Numerous documents and templates
- Glossary of Terms
Additionally, the Standard and Premium editions highlight all of the mandatory requirements of ISO/IEC 20000, so even if an organization is not yet considering attaining the standard, they have all of the information available to them should they decide to do so in the future.
foxPRISM enables you to hold all relevant processes customized for your environment in one place for ease of access by your service management team and to easily demonstrate compliant processes to your auditor for the ISO20000 certification.
For those organizations with an interest in Cobit, then supporting material for this control framework is also available for both the Standard and Premium editions.
Technology deployment
foxPRISM contributes to the effective deployment of any supporting technology, by ensuring that configuration, integration and exploitation are driven by business and service requirements and defined processes, not technical specifications, therefore delivering faster Return On Investment.
Implementation service
As a precursor to implementing foxPRISM it is recommended that organizations perform a baseline review of current processes, which can feed into the target process design criteria.
Effective customization of the generic foxPRISM tool is achieved through 1-day process workshops.
- Each facilitated workshop will identify the modifications required in order to customize the process to reflect your mode of operation. Following the workshop, Global Vision will make the required modifications.
- Following customization of all the required processes, a final workshop will check out the accuracy and completeness of interfaces between processes, with modifications applied as required.
- The customized version of foxPRISM will be signed off and handed over for ongoing use.
Further processes can be customized as and when required by Global Vision or maintained by your own staff.
